There will be a public meeting on Monday regarding Minneapolis Public School’s plans to renovate and reopen Howe School. The Howe School building has been unoccupied since 2005 and has had the heat turned off for the past two to three years. Minneapolis Public Schools to renovate and re-open Howe for the Fall 2013 school year. The student population will be grades 3, 4 & 5, with a planned capacity of 285 students. It will be linked with the nearby Hiawatha Elementary School, sharing the Principal and key administrative staff.
Minneapolis Public Schools has submitted land use applications in order to reestablish the school. In addition to Monday’s meeting, there will be a public hearing before the Planning Commission on Monday, October 1st, at 4:30pm (additional details here: Howe School notice).
