LCC Seeks Volunteer Music Performers for Summer Celebration
Are you a musician, or do you know a musician, who’s interested in volunteering at LCC’s Summer Celebration? The event is from 5:30-8pm Tuesday, June 28th at Fireroast Café, 3800 37th Ave S. This is a great way to get some exposure while meeting your neighbors. For details, email bonnie@longfellow.org.

LoLa Registration Now Open
Registration for the League of Longfellow Artists (LoLa) is now open. The eighth annual LoLa Art Crawl will be held from 10am to 5pm Saturday, September 17th and Sunday September 18th. Friday, June 24th

Food Truck Fridays @ Minnehaha Mile Shopping District, Minnehaha Ave and E 41st St, 11am to 2pm. For the month of June, there will be a food truck available for lunch on Fridays from 11am to 2pm on Minnehaha Avenue (look for the truck near 41st & Minnehaha). (Junket: Tossed & Found will supply blankets for picnics in Adams Grove Community Orchard, too!

She’s Gotta Have It @ The Trylon, 3258 Minnehaha Ave, multiple showings Friday through Sunday. (1986, 35mm, 88m) w/Tracy Camilla Johns, Tommy Redmond Hicks. Lee’s debut feature was shot on a shoestring budget in 12 days. The result is a fresh, ruefully witty tale about beautiful Nola (Johns) and the three young men chasing her.

Stories Together: Pride @ East Lake Library, 2727 E Lake St, 10:15am to 10:45am. Celebrate family and self-expression during Pride month through books, stories, rhymes, music and movement.

Minneapolis Craft Market @ Harriet Brewing, 3036 Minnehaha Ave, noon to 6pm. Join Harriet Brewing every Sunday in June for an outdoor craft market. The events will feature a new lineup of makers each weekend, plus live music or vinyl playing throughout the day.

Intro to Basic Maintenance @ The Hub Bicycle Co-op, 3020 Minnehaha Ave, 10am to noon. This course is intended for students with little or no bicycle maintenance experience. This two-hour course imparts all the basic wisdom necessary to help your inner bike guru catch wind. The course covers bike anatomy, wheel removal, tire & tube replacement, cleaning the bike, lubricating the chain, and a Q&A with a Hub mechanic. Bring your bike to work on and wear clothes you won’t mind getting dirty.

Monday, June 27th

Beyond the Divide @ The Trylon, 3258 Minnehaha Ave, multiple showings Monday-Tuesday. (2014, DCP, 84m) dir Jan Selby. The appearance of a mysterious graffiti peace symbol in Missoula, MT, rekindles the animosity between Vietnam War veterans and those who remained at home. This documentary is screened as part of a quarterly series presented by Northern Exposure. A Q&A follows the 7 p.m. Tuesday screening.

Shanty Sing @ Merlins Rest, 3601 E Lake St, 7:30-9:30pm. All ages are welcome, but note this is not a “family sing.”

Monday Mystery Markdown @ Junket: Tossed and Found, 4049 Minnehaha Ave, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Junket wants to give the few, the faithful and the folks who are paying attention a healthy discount on something specific each Monday at the shop. You can sign up for the event to be notified when the specific discount is posted. You can also subscribe to Junket’s entire events feed to be notified of event postings on an ongoing basis.
