Longfellow History Book
The Neighborhood by the Falls: A Look Back at Life in Longfellow (by Eric Hart and the Longfellow History Project) is a fascinating and informative look back at the history of the Longfellow area through stories, anecdotes, illustrations, narratives and a collection of photographs—all dating from the 1800s to the present. It was released at the April 22, 2009 LCC Annual Meeting. Click the book cover at left for additional information and a preview of the book.
The Longfellow Planbook, by Kristi Lee Johnson and Robert Gerloff, illustrates ways to remodel bungalows and other small houses to fit the needs of today without sacrificing the character found in homes built during the Arts and Crafts period. A special project of south Minneapolis’s Longfellow Community Council, this 31-page book of plans uses the most commonly built bungalow floor plan as a jumping-off point for a series of historically sensitive remodeling plans.
