Public Hearing Notice- Parka

Sherman Associates has closed on the development of Longfellow Station. Construction should begin within the next few weeks. Below is a press release from Sherman Associates:

There will be a public hearing this Thursday to gather public opinion regarding Elevated Beer, Wine & Spirit’s application for an Off-Sale Liquor license to operate at 4135 Hiawatha Ave. For more information about the proposed business, see the front page article of the August edition of the Longfellow/Nokomis Messenger.

The Blue Door, the famed St. Paul neighborhood pub known for their Juicy Lucys, is ready to move forward with plans for a Longfellow location after receiving approval for their wine and beer license. The Blue Door has also received the necessary zoning approvals to go into the commercial building at the corner of 42nd Ave & 35th Street (see photo below). The Blue Door will renovate the building, adding windows, seating for 70 patrons, and of course the famous blue door.

The owners of the Blue Door met with the LCC Neighborhood Development committee almost a year ago to first present their plans. Both the Neighborhood Development committee and the LCC Board of Directors wrote letters of support for the approval of a wine and beer license for the Blue Door. The Blue Door also worked with the City of Minneapolis and a group of neighbors to the proposed location to develop conditions associated with their wine and beer license.
