Longfellow Community Council seeks to share information to empower residents to become engaged in decisions and developments affecting Greater Longfellow. This page serves as a platform for residents to access information on local public hearings or items for public comment and will be updated as items are received by LCC. New items will be posted at the top and contain links for additional information. Note that in most cases, comments should be directed to the appropriate staff person listed in the notice of public hearing.

Notice of a Public Hearing on December 4th, 2017

The following applications for Longfellow Station are being reviewed by the City Planning Commission:

     -Conditional use permit to allow for an amendment to a planed unit development.

     -Variance of the PO/Pedestrian Oriented Overlay District Standards to allow for a surface parking to span more than 40 feet of street frontage; to allow for the development to have a floor area ratio less than 1.0, and to allow a building to be located more than 8 feet from the front lot line.

     -Site Plan Review

Notice of a Public Hearing on November 13th, 2017 at 4:30pm

The owners of a property located at 2868 West River Parkway have applied for a minor subdivision to allow a lot split resulting in two lots, one with the existing dwelling and another for a new single-family dwelling.

Notice of a Public Hearing on September 28, 2017 at 4:30pm

The Zoning Board of Adjustment will consider an application for a variance to reduce the front yard setback requirement for the construction of a new single-family home at 3724 36th Avenue S.

Notice of Public Hearing: 38th Street Station Area

The City Planning Commission will review applications for the first phase of a planned unit development (PUD) for the 38th Street Station. A public hearing has been announced for Monday, September 18th, 2017 at 4:30pm. To submit comments in person or via email, see the public hearing notice for details.

Notice of Public Hearing: Zoning Code Ordinance Amendments

The City Planning commission will consider amendments to the City zoning code pertaining to:

  • Site plan review standards & regulations for exterior building materials on multi-family, mixed use, commercial, and industrial developments
  • Communication towers, antennas, & base units
  • Off-premise advertising requirements

Notice of Public Comment on August 22nd, 2017 at 1:30pm

The Community Development & Regulatory Services Committee of the Minneapolis City Council will conduct a public hearing on the City’s 2016 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) at approximately 1:30pm on August 22nd, 2017 in Room 317 City Hall.

Public Comment Opportunity on Met Council 2018-21 Draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

The Metropolitan Council’s Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) is receiving public comment on the Draft 2018-21 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The program includes highway, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian projects that are proposed for federal funding in the Twin Cities metropolitan area in the next four years. To view the draft TIP plan, click HERE.

Kimley Horn, on behalf of Oppidan Investment Company, has filed applications for the property located at 3939-3941 46h Street East to allow a new 5-story mixed-use building, and a new, 1-story commercial building.

Public Comment Opportunity on Minneapolis Stormwater Management Program

The City of Minneapolis is seeking public input into the priorities and programs that make up the city’s Stormwater Management Program (SWMP). The current SWMP was most recently updated and approved by the MPCA in September 2014.
